Physiotherapy Associates, the nation’s foremost provider of outpatient rehabilitation services, today announced that it has identified the National Multiple Sclerosis Society as its national community service partner. More than 3,100 employees for Physiotherapy Associates will provide ongoing community service efforts to benefit the more than 400,000 people living in the United States with multiple sclerosis (MS).

“As the leading physical therapy provider in the United States, our affiliation with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society allows our 3,100 employees across the United States to provide community service to benefit the more than 400,000 people living with MS and their family members on a local, regional and national basis,” said Dan Connors, Chief Executive Officer, Physiotherapy Associates. “We plan to work with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society through its national network of chapters in a variety of ways, including education and participation in its Bike MS and Walk MS events across the country.”

“The National MS Society’s vision is a world free of MS,” said Becca Kornfeld, Vice President of Corporate & Community Relations. “Having Physiotherapy Associates join the MS movement in such a meaningful way will help us move that much faster toward our vision.”

In addition to its ongoing relationship with the National MS Society, Physiotherapy Associates’ clinicians are focused this month on celebrating the benefits of physical therapy during National PT Month, which is an annual event. Each October, the practice of physical therapy is promoted nationally as an integral part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. With more than 600 clinics across the U.S., Physiotherapy Associates’ clinics are available for one-on-one care, and provide comprehensive plans of care for all types of patients.

Stay Pain Free With a Free Physical Therapy Consultation

Posted on 01 October 2010 by johnd

Physiotherapy Associates, the nation’s foremost provider of outpatient rehabilitation services, today announced that its more than 600 clinics will offer a free, 15-minute consultation with a licensed clinician to celebrate October as “National Physical Therapy Month,” as designated by the American Physical Therapy Association.

“‘National Physical Therapy Month’ offers anyone living with pain the opportunity to learn more about the tremendous benefits of physical therapy,” said Dan Connors, Chief Executive Officer, Physiotherapy Associates. “During the month of October, anyone who has pain from a chronic condition, from surgery, or from general use can stop in to any of our more than 600 clinics across the U.S. and quickly learn what’s needed to get back to a healthy lifestyle. In just 15 minutes with one of our more than 1,300 licensed clinicians, patients will experience our outstanding one-on-one care, which can lead to a successful treatment program.”

Every year, “National Physical Therapy Month” highlights the health benefits of physical therapy, the partnership between patient and therapist, and a number of conditions that are treatable with physical therapy, including common ailments such as back and neck pain, sports injuries and other conditions from trauma, overuse or age.

Physiotherapy Associates’ COO Pete Grabaskas, PT, stated, “Our physical therapists continue to help millions of our patients return to their pre-injury, pre-surgery, or pre-pain lifestyles. We know that physical therapy is still an unknown to many people, and these consultations provide a quick view into how patients can get better – quicker. As a physical therapist for 25 years, I know that our clinicians are well-suited to give our patients the care they need and provide the outcomes they deserve.”

Anyone interested in a free, 15-minute consultation offered during the month of October should locate their nearest Physiotherapy Associates clinic on the company’s website: www.physiocorp.com. Appointments will be taken during regular clinic hours. During the consultation, patients can expect a high-quality, licensed physical therapist to listen to their concerns, conduct a brief physical screen, and explain how physical therapy can improve their daily lives. Potential patients should call the most conveniently-located clinic to determine if a physician’s prescription for services is required by law prior to their consultation appointment.
